Ravi is a Business Excellence and Innovation professional with more than 20 years’ experience working with Australian and Global organisations. Having started his professional career as a process improvement specialist with Accenture, Ravi has worked with leading management consultancies like Deloitte, CGI and SAI Global to deliver tailored improvement and innovation solutions to global clients. Ravi is the Managing Partner for Thrive Plus – a business solutions and technology services company specialising in Business Excellence enablement. In addition to his work with Thrive Plus, Ravi is currently an Advisory Director and the CEO of Business Excellence Australia, Australia’s representative on the Global Excellence Model Council. Ravi is also a member of the ASQ Organisational Excellence Technical Committee and the NSW Chapter Lead for the Australian Organisation for Quality. Ravi has extensive experience in guiding organisations through transformational change initiatives leveraging international Excellence Models and recognised innovation frameworks. His focus in recent years has been the development and implementation of technology solutions that enable Business Excellence with a focus on predictive analytics.

Patrick is Director of Business & Service Excellence in Enterprise Singapore (ESG), a government agency tasked to help companies build capabilities, access global opportunities and create good jobs for Singaporeans. He oversees the Business Excellence (BE) initiative, a programme that enables companies to adopt management best practices and improve performances. This includes facilitating the growth of targeted high-growth companies through BE intervention, which helps to identify key strengths & areas for improvements, and ultimately a roadmap for growth and competitiveness for these companies. Prior to his current portfolio, Patrick spent nine years driving entrepreneurship development. He was involved in enhancing the entrepreneurial culture in Singapore; formulating policies and programmes to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystem; and working with partners to accelerate growth of promising start-ups. Patrick is a firm believer in enterprise development, which is the main driver for his tenure in Enterprise Singapore for more than 16 years. He derived satisfaction in witnessing the growth of promising companies, as he sees them as the future growth engines for Singapore.

Léon Tossaint, CEO, EFQM, Belgium

Léon Tossaint, started his professional career at Philips in 1971 and has been working there in different positions until he retired in 2006. The last 10 years at Philips he was Vice President Quality Management & Business Excellence, responsible for the global implementation of Business Excellence. He has supported EFQM from the start in1989 onwards and was involved in the development of the EFQM Excellence Model and the first Award Assessor training in 1990. He has acted as lead assessor in many EFQM Award and Recognition assessments over the last 25 years. Since March 2015, Léon has supported EFQM as Change Officer and he has been appointed as the EFQM CEO in November 2015. Under his CEO ship EFQM has extended their footprint globally both with Partners and Members in the Middle East, Asia, South America and South Africa. All to deliver the brand promise: EFQM Leading Excellence.

Darin AtteberryHow to build a culture of excellence and achieve excellent performance results
Darin Atteberry, City Manager, Fort Collins City, United States

Darin Atteberry is the city manager in Fort Collins, Colorado, a position he has held since 2004. In that time, he has led the organization through a time of transformational change, from a “trust us” model of governing to one that is data-driven and performance-based. In 2017, the City of Fort Collins became the third city in the program’s history to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence, due to its focus on continuous improvement, community engagement and innovation. Darin is now leading Fort Collins through a voter-approved initiative to build a fifth utility to provide high-speed broadband service to the entire community. Darin serves as Vice Chair of the Alliance for Innovation and is a member on both the Communities of Excellence 2026 Board and the Center for Public Safety Excellence Board of Directors. In 2013, Darin was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Colorado State University College of Business. In 2016 he was elected as a Fellow with the National Academy of Public Administration. Recently, Darin received the Colorado Governor’s Citizenship medal, recognizing him as a leader who serves the public with innovation, operational excellence and progressive vision.

Chuah Kee Heng, Managing Director, SP Services, Singapore

Kee Heng’s professional career began in Citigroup Corporate & Investment Banking Group. After Citigroup, he joined Temasek Holdings as Associate Director, Investments. While he was in Temasek he was involved in investments in financial services, transportation, logistics, energy and real estate sectors. Kee Heng is currently MD, SP Services. Previously he headed Strategic Development overseeing the strategy, corporate planning and business ventures functions for SP Group. Kee Heng received his Bachelor’s Degree (First Class) in Electronics Engineering from University College London. He has a Masters in Applied Finance from University of Adelaide and an MBA from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.

Harnek as Lead Assessor has led Singapore Quality Award and BE Niche Awards and certifications assessments. He is involved in International Assessor and training of BE Assessors and BE Consultants in Singapore, and Internationally as a technical expert for Asia Productivity Organisation, and UNIDO as International Consultant for Business Excellence and Productivity. He is Honorary Secretary, Singapore Productivity Association’ and serve on Judging Panel for the PS21 Public Sector Transformation Awards Committee, and is an Academician, International Academy for Quality. While as a management representative he facilitated ST Engineering Group’s attainment of the Singapore Quality Award in 2002, Singapore Innovation Excellence Award in 2003, IAPQA 2005, the inaugural Singapore Quality Award with Special Commendation in 2007, ASEAN Business Award (Innovation) Finalist 2009, and the APQO Global Performance Excellence Award (World Class) 2011. Nelson Chia, Managing Director, My Virtual Resource Pte. Ltd.

Nelson Chia joined Philips Singapore, in 1979, benefiting from the very structured and systematic business and quality management practices at Philips NV. He chaired a Company Wide Quality Improvement Committee to put in place quality and business excellence programs to build the awareness, mindset and best practices for quality and continuous improvement to make Philips Singapore the first Philips Factory outside Europe to attain the coveted Philips Quality Award in 1994 and the prestigious Singapore Quality Award for Business Excellence (SQA) in 1998. In year 2000, Nelson joined Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company, a new Wafer Fabrication joint venture of Philips, TSMC and EDBi, Singapore. He set up a very robust Quality Management System and Business Excellence Framework in SSMC to attain the SQA in 2005 and SQA with Special Commendation in 2013. In 2014, Chia left SSMC and set up his own management consultancy company, My Virtual Resource Pte Ltd, helping MNCs and SMEs on their journey to Business Excellence. He is a National Lead Assessor since 1998 and a member of the Singapore Quality Award Management Committee from 2010 to 2013. He is also the convener of Quality Management Systems for Enterprise Singapore.

Ms, Mangalika de Silva, VP Administration, APQO & Secretariat Global Performance Excellence Award

Mangalika de Silva is the President of Sri Lanka Association for Quality (SLAQ), Vice President Administration and APQO-GPEA Secretariat, Asia Pacific Quality Organization. She is a Lead Auditor in management system certification (Quality, Environment, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Energy) and a qualified Lead Tutor for IRCA approved Lead Auditor Courses. Previously Senior Deputy Director at Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) worked in exports, imports, product certification and standards formulation divisions while serving as a trainer, auditor, SLNQA examiner; and Scientist at Tea Research Institute. She was the editor for ‘’SLSI Bulletin’’ and SLAQ’s “Quality Today”. Launching of “Total Quality Education” (TQE) concept in schools in Sri Lanka with the approval of Ministry of Education is a great achievement under her leadership. Mangalika holds a BSc (Hon), MSc (Analytical Chemistry) and MBA from the University of Colombo. She is an Attorney-at-Law with LLB, a Chartered Chemist, a Member of ASQ and a Fellow Member of SLAQ. Mangalika is the recipient of APQO’s MMG Medal for Professional Woman in Quality Leadership (2010), Quality Pioneer Award (2013) by WCTQEE, APQO Women Award (2016) and APQO Special Recognition Award (2017) in recognition of her commitment for quality.

Jan-Patrick Cap, Head of Competence Center for Innovation Systems and Structures (CCIS), Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK)

Mr. Cap is the head of the Competence Center Competence Center for Innovation Systems and Structures (CCIS) at Fraunhofer IPK, Berlin. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and Tsinghua University Beijing, as well as Business Administration from Collège des Ingénieurs Paris. His working experience includes the set-up of innovation policies, as well as planning and implementation of innovation parks and institutes throughout Europe, USA, Brazil, UAE and China. Furthermore, he is a board member of the Global Benchmarking Network, an organization of Benchmarking professionals throughout the world. He managed the Implementation of the Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute in Nanjing which received high political support by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel as well as the Chinese Premier of State Council Li Keqiang and is nowadays supporting European Space Start-ups in delivering a viable product and conducting product benchmarking with a Brazilian manufacturing company.

Mohamed ZairiKeynote Presentation – The UAE’s excellence transformation & global implications of Quality 4.0
Professor Mohamed Zairi, Senior Advisor at the Prime Minister’s Office, UAE

Professor Zairi is the chairman of the Jury of Abu Dhabi Government Excellence Program, Dubai Government Excellence Program and Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program. He has played a significant role in growing the quality movement in the MENA Region over the last 25 years. He is the originator and co-founder of the Middle East Quality Association, the co-founder of the first e-Learning University in the region (Hamdan Bin Mohammad Smart University). Recognized as a Guru and International Expert in the field of Total Quality and Excellence Management. He was one of the pioneers of the Benchmarking concept, has published five books in this field including the first case study book on benchmarking applications in the World. He is the founder of the Benchmarking International Journal which is now in its 27th volume. He is the only Academician who has written extensively about the role of Quality in all the four Industrial Revolutions. Professor Zairi is one of the originators of the concept of Quality 4.0, has recently published the first two books on the disruptive thinking of Quality 4.0 in the World and is leading a major research on Quality Future Thinking.

Ayed AlamriQuality and Business Excellence as a key enabler for achieving Saudi Arabia Vision 2030
Dr. Ayed T. Al-Amri, President – Saudi Quality Council, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Dr Ayed T. Al-Amri currently is the President of Saudi Quality Council (SQC) in Saudi Arabia. He is also the Executive Director – Saudi Quality Strategy Executive Office at Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). The National Quality Strategy project is a major national quality initiative by SASO to support and enable the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030. Dr Ayed was the X/Chairman of Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) based in UAE. He worked for Saudi Airlines for 27 years and made his early retirement when he was General Manager, Bilateral & Commercial Agreements in Saudi Arabian Airlines. Dr. Alamri led a large number of local and regional quality activities and initiatives. He has contributed in the establishment and development of many local and regional quality awards in the Middle East and currently he is CEO of the Excellence Award in Charity Sector in Saudi Arabia. He is a member of the International Academy for Quality ( IAQ ) and also was member of the Advisory team for the TQM Journal in UK and a member of numerous of professional local and international societies and has awarded Kano Medal for Excellence Catalyst.

Saad Ghafoor is a 25 years old PhD Scholar at the Centre for Organisational Excellence Research (COER), Massey University, New Zealand under the supervision of Dr. Robin Mann. His PhD is titled Excellence Without Borders and is a global benchmarking study on the design, deployment and impact of National/Regional/Sectoral Business Excellence (BE) programs. Mr. Ashish Khanna is the President – Renewables, Tata Power and also MD & CEO of Tata Power Solar – India’s largest integrated solar company. He joined Tata Power in 2007. Ashish has over 30 years of cumulative experience with a focus on project management and contracts in both India and abroad. Under his leadership, Tata Power Solar emerged as no.1 rooftop player in the industry. He has been instrumental in streamlining the business for increased efficiency and profitability by focusing on building state-of-the-art technology, engineering and strengthening customer and employee satisfaction. His relentless pursuit of excellence has helped Tata Power Solar build strong competencies leveraging technology and innovation. Lia Starting the Journey of Excellence in the Public Service
Dr Lia Maka, Chief Executive Officer, Public Service Commission, Government of Tonga, Tonga

I manage and oversee 20 Government Ministries and Agencies. I provide strategic human resources and policy advice to Prime Minister and Cabinet on key public service reform areas and administration of Government services. I oversee the Tonga Business Excellence Initiative that was launched in June 2018. I have 34 years experience in capacity development work, with 17 years of program management and strategic policy advice and development in the education (management/TVET), community development sector; including management of Business Advisory projects across 15 Pacific islands and territories. High level regional leadership/policy/technical engagement. Strong multi-sectoral experience and programmatic approaches. Specific experience of working with high level Pacific government agencies and stakeholders in Education, Women, Youth councils, Civil Societies/NGOs, Pacific Business Development Service providers, (BDS), and Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) through work in Tonga, in Pacific regional organisations, and through consultancies.

Dawn Ringrose, Principal, Organizational Excellence Specialists Inc, Canada

Dawn Ringrose has worked with a wide range of organizations to improve organizational performance since 1984. Some of these organizations have earned national excellence awards. Recognized by her peers with the Fellow Certified Management Consultant designation and the Quality & Excellence Builder Award, Dawn is currently the representative for Canada on the Global Benchmarking Network and the Organizational Excellence Technical Committee QMD ASQ. Keenly interested in making the excellence journey more simple, straightforward, cost effective and time efficient, Dawn authored a turnkey toolkit intended to support work with all excellence models. Tools in the toolkit include: publication (Organizational Excellence Framework © 2010), scenario games, holistic and modular workshops, automated assessment and reporting tool and train-the-trainer program. Dale F. Weeks is President and CEO of Global Leadership and Benchmarking Associates, a performance excellence and global benchmarking consulting service. Dale was Deputy Executive Director/Senior Benchmarking Officer for the FL Department of Revenue (2000-2011), one of the most innovative performance excellence government agencies globally. For 20+ years, Dale also led major private sector change initiatives in Marketing, Information Systems, and Consulting capacities for Control Data Corporation, General Mills, and Xerox, where he was instrumental in producing $50+ million in Sales Revenue. Dr. Robert Camp, Honorary Life-time President, Global Benchmarking Network, United States

Robert Camp is a leading authority on benchmarking and its use to obtain best practice knowledge and superior performance. Dr. Camp’s business career includes DuPont, Mobil Oil, and 23 years with Xerox Corporation. While at Xerox, he created benchmarking programs and led large-scale benchmarking investigations. Camp has presented the Xerox benchmarking experience at major events in 33 countries throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Americas. He is the author of the best-selling Benchmarking: The Search for Industry Best Practices that Lead to Superior Performance first published in 1989 and now available in thirteen languages. Together with Benchmarking: Finding and Implementing Best Practices (1995) and Global Cases in Benchmarking: Best Practices from Organizations Around the World (1998), these books share his insight and extensive experience. In 2014 Camp was honored by the American Society for Quality with the Distinguished Service Medal, the highest award for service in recognition of lifetime contribution to quality technology through best practice benchmarking.

Ahmed has participated on number of research and benchmarking projects, such as Excellence Makers – Dubai We Learn for two cycles, development of vocational standards for Ministry of Labour, Asian Productivity Organisation Business Excellence Guide Book. Ahmed has an active role in increasing awareness of quality and benchmarking within Bahrain and gulf region, through organising and delivering workshops and training sessions to Bahraini organisations, especially SMEs and non-profit organisations.
